What a lovely bunch the staff are at West Lancashire Golf Club wedding venue. Being a wedding photographer at this Lancashire wedding venue is always a buzz. I have photographed a few weddings here before and it’s always ace to come back to photograph more.

WEDDINGS AT WEST LANCASHIRE GOLF CLUB

No two weddings are the same and West Lancashire Golf Club offers you the opportunity to have a unique wedding. Established in 1873 by seven members of Liverpool Golf club, it is the oldest golf club in Lancashire and one of the first golf clubs in England. The best thing about this wedding venue is that Crosby beach and Anthony Gormley’s Another Place is just down the road! A brilliant setting to take unusual photographs and what a sunset! What a job to be a wedding photographer!

CHURCH WEDDING CEREMONY

Jessica had her bridal preparations at her parent’s house with her bridesmaids. What a fabulous sunny day we had for the wedding! Jess had a lot of bridesmaids who looked fab in their dresses. Jess chose some beautiful flowers for the day and once she had her wedding dress and shoes on it was time to drive to the church in a real vintage Bentley wedding car.

Matthew was with his best man and ushers doing a fine job of greeting the wedding guests. A few gasps as the bride walked up the aisle with her father and a lovely moment when the bride and groom saw each other for the first time when Jess arrived at the altar. There were lots of tears from the mother of the groom and the bridesmaids during the vows and exchange of rings. The priest gave a fantastic mass and after signing the register and the confetti was thrown over the happy couple we shot the family group photographs at the church.

PHOTOGRAPHING THE REST OF THE WEDDING DAY

A great drinks reception welcome at the wedding venue with champagne and canapés for the guests. I love photographing this part of the day as the guests have fun. I get most of my interesting compositions from this part of the wedding day. I use prime lenses, which are the best for blurry backgrounds and for taking great portraits. Big cheers for the bride and groom as they were announced into the wedding breakfast. Super speeches from the the father of the bride, groom and the best man, although I must admit the father of the brides speech was the one of the best I have ever heard as a wedding photographer!

We waited until the sun was setting to take a trip to Crosby beach for a real knockout couple portrait session. We captured some amazing photographs of the bride and groom. This is manna from heaven for any wedding photographer when the ‘golden hour’ is on a beach! After the cutting of the cake it was time for the first dance and the DJ did a fine job of keeping everybody on the dance floor!
