Throughout this website I talk about keeping things relaxed, giving gentle guidance when you need it, blending into the day and capturing the moments you didn’t even see.
That’s what I aim to do. But what matters is whether it actually feels that way when you’re on the other side of the camera.
So rather than take my word for it, here’s what couples I’ve photographed have said.
You can forget about the camera
Most couples aren’t used to being photographed all day. Quite a few tell me beforehand that they feel awkward in front of a camera.
The thing I want most is for you to stop thinking about me and get on with enjoying your wedding.

Documentary photography doesn’t mean leaving you completely on your own.
For the small number of portraits and family photographs we make together, I’ll help when you need it. The aim is for the photographs to feel natural without expecting you to know what to do in front of a camera.

One of the things about getting married is that you can’t possibly see everything happening around you.
While you’re talking to one group of people, something completely different is happening across the room.
That’s a huge part of what I’m looking for.

Like having another guest there
I don’t want to feel like an outside production crew arriving at your wedding.
I want your family and friends to be comfortable around me, because that’s when people stop performing for the camera and start behaving like themselves.
