For couples who care less about perfection and more about how the day actually feels

Natural, emotional wedding photography for couples who want real moments, relaxed portraits, and a day that never feels turned into a photoshoot.

If you’re worried about awkward photos, you’re in the right place

A lot of couples come to me saying the same thing. They want beautiful wedding photographs, but they do not want the day to feel staged, stiff, or over-directed.

They do not want to spend hours being posed. They do not want to feel like they are performing. They want to be present, enjoy their wedding, and trust that the important moments are being captured naturally as they happen.

They also want portraits that feel easy, look beautiful, and still feel like them. That is exactly what my approach is built around.

This Might Be The Right Fit For You If…

  • you hate the idea of being posed all day
  • you want real emotion, not stiff smiles
  • you still want lovely portraits, just without the awkwardness
  • you care more about how the day feels than performing for the camera
  • you want a calm photographer who helps without taking over
  • you want photographs that feel honest, warm, and full of life

A relaxed approach with gentle guidance where it helps

I photograph weddings in a natural, documentary way, which means I am mostly watching for real moments as they unfold rather than constantly directing them.

That said, I also know most couples are not used to being in front of the camera, and nor should they have to be. So when it helps, especially during portraits, I give gentle guidance that makes things feel easy and comfortable. Just enough direction to help you feel relaxed and look like yourselves.

The result is a set of photographs that feels both honest and beautiful. You get the atmosphere, the emotion, the nerves, the laughter, the hugs, the in-between moments, and portraits that still feel natural and full of personality.

You get to enjoy your wedding. I’ll take care of the rest.

My job is not to turn your wedding into a production.

My job is to help the day breathe, step in when needed, disappear when needed, and create photographs that let you remember not just how it looked, but how it felt.

So instead of spending the day worrying about what to do with your hands or being marched from one setup to another, you can actually be with your people, enjoy what is happening, and trust that the important moments are being captured.

What couples often tell me

The couples I work with are often worried they’ll feel awkward in photos or that the photography will take over the day. Here’s what a few of them said afterwards.

“We recently chose David for our wedding at Scarlet Hall. He prides himself on his ability to blend in to get some incredibly natural and intimate shots, and true to his word, he captured some of the most visually stunning photographs which we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We were able to see just how much love and raw emotion there is between us, and our loved ones, His communication, direction and friendliness was second to none and we can’t recommend him enough!”

Ros & Tim

“We absolutely loved having David as our Wedding Photographer. From our first meeting he explained everything, made us feel at ease and happy with the plan. His relaxed style of photography made us feel very comfortable on the day and this is reflected in the amazing photos we have of our Wedding day. We love the natural style and he’s really captured a lot of beautiful and organic moments without us even realising – very highly recommended.”

Sarah & Jack

“From our very first chat, we knew we were in safe hands with David. He not only captured our wedding day perfectly, but added to it with his kindness, approachability and ability to make us and our guests feel so at ease. David knew exactly when to step in and offer gentle guidance to get the shots we wanted, and when to seamlessly blend in with our guests and capture moments naturally.
I can’t speak highly enough of David and his wonderful photography. I’d recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!”

Worried you’ll feel awkward in front of the camera?

That is incredibly common, and honestly, you do not need to be “good at photos” for this to work.

Most couples I photograph are not used to being in front of the camera. They just want to enjoy their day and come away with photographs that feel genuine. That is why I keep things relaxed, unobtrusive, and easy. I will guide you when it helps, but I will never make you perform.

You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to act like someone else. You just need to show up as yourselves.
